I always prefer to have heavy & filling breakfast in the
morning; it keeps me energetic & productive till lunch time. On workday
mornings, I have office to rush to, there is always time constraint to make too
many things and for years I survived on muesli. But there is so much muesli one
woman can have day in & day out before getting tired of it!!
Just when I was looking for healthy yet quick ideas for fulfilling
breakfasts, my friend &health food blogger Sangeeta Khanna posted her Banana Cocoa Almond & Flax Meal
Smoothie. The thought of a chocolatey breakfast, which was quick &
fulfilling totally hooked me to this recipe and today morning, I made it.
It turned out to tasty, slurrpy, cooling, light yet
fulfilling for the stomach!! I would recommend Banana
Cocoa Almond & Flax Meal Smoothie for all the lovely working women
out there, who are looking for a healthy, powerpacked & quick breakfast.
Here is the Recipe:
Ingredients.
(one large serving)
- one large banana,
over ripe banana is better for smoothies
- 1 heaped tbsp flax
meal (grind 1& half tablespoon of flax seed otherwise)
- 10-12
soaked almonds
- 2 tsp good quality
organic cocoa powder
- a cup of full fat
milk or more as required
Method.
- Put everything
together in a food processor or mixie and give it a good whirrrr!!
- Serve right away.
This recipe gives one big mug of smoothie, however, like me you really
want a heavy duty breakfast, you can just double the proportions and get a tall
glass of smoothie J
